Give These Tourists A Great Welcome to Wednesfield!

Tomorrow a large flotilla of narrow-boats (some 21!)will start arriving at Bentley Bridge on the Wyrley and Essington Canal in the late afternoon, tomorrow Wednesday 13th May 2015.

They will be mooring over night and will be moving on as part of their ‘cruise’ on Thursday 14th May during the morning.

I do hope the people of Wednesfield will turn out both in the afternoon as they arrive and welcome them! As well as waving them away…..

This is the largest ‘cruise’ yet that we have attracted to Wednesfield, the Public Houses and the Retail out-lets along with the Cinema and Leisure facilities  will I hope see these tourists  as the first of many that will arrive into the future.

Last year we put this canal and Wednesfield very much back on the Inland Waterway Map, and I do want to see that continue. So come on Wednesfield do what you can to make this short visit a welcoming one for our visitors!
