I Year On – Happy Birthday to The Hub at Ashmore Park!

IMG_6623 1 year hub cakeThis is a significant ‘One Year’ birthday for an important part of the social infrastructure here in Wednesfield North.

Councillor Mary Bateman, and Rita Potter all felt that we should together celebrate this great day. So the three of us bought a cake and here you can see the Hub volunteers cheering the lighting of that scrummy chocolate cake!

With around 43 different groups and organisations using the Hub, and supported by a small but effective band of volunteers, and a very enthusiastic Ashmore Park Community Association.

The Hub has made a huge change in social and community activities in this part of the City of Wolverhampton. It is also very active in supporting Ashmore Park Library, and the activities that take place there as well.

I am as is my Councillor colleagues, very proud of the Hub’s first year’s activities and the great way that the Hub is not only working. But also the way that it is attracting much interest elsewhere as a beacon of community involvement….Yes anyone who is a member, take part in an activity or just attends, is very much a hero in my thinking. Because it is you guys that are developing such a wonderful reputation for the Hub at Ashmore Park.So from Councillor Phil Bateman, Councillor Mary Bateman, and Councillor Rita Potter – Happy Birthday and enjoy the ‘choccy cake’ !
