JSDA Proves – That Arts and Culture Is Alive & Well in Wednesfield!

JSDA Into the ‘That’s Showbizz’ Finals and Nine Trophy’s!

On Saturday 17th September Dance Design Events hosted ‘That’s Showbizz’ group dance of the year 2016 Competition at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

The exciting issue is that Wednesfield was there in force through the Julie Sarah’s Dance Academy.

The weekend was a good one for JSDA from Wednesfield. They took part in a national semi final in Blackpool Winter Garden’s in front of 3,000 people and came away with armful’s of silverware!

The reward for all this hard work is that a National Final beckon’s in the Liverpool Echo Arena in front of 5,000 guests later in the year. Wednesfield as a community is proving that it has huge ‘get up and go!’

We are not only active through our history and Industrial and Manufacturing  endeavours, but the Arts and the cultural scene is bouncing also!

I am personally very pleased that the JSDA has made such a great impact in Blackpool. Earlier this year Mary and I were guests at their event in Sedgley. They left us feeling very proud of the work taking place with our young people.

Wednesfield as a Village is having a real run of success, its not just the great events and festivals that are taking place here. It is great that Arts and Culture is going so well also. Young people are our future and it is fantastic that here in Wednesfield the Arts through Dance is so strong!

Julie Scrivens who runs the Dance Academy tells me that she is still “Absolutely buzzing and so proud of JSDA .”

There were 62 schools and over 200 teams competing in the dance Semifinals ,in front of 3000 guest’s assembled from across the Country. The JSDA went on to win Nine trophies ! Didi kidz – 2nd place classic lil sweeps Kidz modern
