Last Night City Council Meeting-

Last night was a  City Council Meeting. It was an uneventful night. The City honoured two former City Councillors that had recently passed away with a two minute silence.

Former Wednesfield North Councillor Gwen Stafford Good, and Former MP and Councillor Ken Purchase.

TreasuryIMG_5326 City cOUNCIL mEETING management carried the most beef, and the report did not divide the City Council.

A plan to adopt a City Centre Action Plan also carried the Council with no opposition.

The City also received a recommendation from Cabinet on the approval of Phase1 of the WV Living (the new – Councils Housing Company) detailed business plan to commence trading and delivering new houses for the sale and market rent. The Conservatives also supported this.

The interest for Wednesfield North residents is that the City Council will now be constructing homes through WV Living on the former Danesmore Park School site for sale, and not the private sector constructors, as originally was planned.

There were a number of questions to Cabinet members. But the meeting ended fairly quickly. On all the Votes the Conservative Opposition and the single UKIP member, did not divide the City Council on any of the voting issues……Like I said at the start. It was an uneventful City Council Meeting.
