In Twyford Grove on the Oaklands Estate, there have been some underground movement. This has led to an opening appear in the pavement.
The Coal Authority inspected the movement and took charge of making the opening safe. On Wednesday 30th June, I am informed that the The Coal Authority will be on-site treating the anomaly, and making it safe.
The Coal Authority will take a few days to do all the work they are scheduled to do. Like many places in the Black Country we do find the evidence of old mining actions. The coal seam was particularly shallow in parts of Wednesfield, and many workings were not marked on maps, at the time.
Its been an awkward time for residents in Twyford Grove with part of the pavement and highway fenced off. Hopefully things will return to normal for them next week.
