More ‘Brownfield’ for Housing?

The next part of the the City of Wolverhampton Housing plans to
bring more ‘challenging’ sites through to delivery, and our planning teams will be given the
flexibility to use these tools to work with developers to bring sites forward for housing

This means looking to take advantage of further ‘Brownfield’ housing sites in Wednesfield North.
We have done this already elsewhere in the Ward, and you can see new homes in lots of these brownfield sites.

Including Danesmore Pastures, (and the picture reflects what the Parker Road garage site looked like before new homes were built on the site) Parker Road, Phillips Ave, and the latest
now opening on Whiston Ave.

We do need housing in Wednesfield and the City of Wolverhampton, and if we want to save the Green Belt,
then we need to identify the redundant ‘Brownfield’ sites as a way forward.

That means that the City will now be looking closely at Woodside, Wolmer Road and Simmons Road redundant garage sites
This is to see if these sites can make a contribution to our future housing need.

I will keep people up dated as the site investigations are undertaken.
