I have written a letter of support for Wolverhampton Goodyears workers, and sent it to the Mayor of Akron, Ohio, USA, asking for what ever support he can give in trying to influence the Goodyear HQ about decisions being taken there, that effect Wednesfield residents working in Goodyear’s Wolverhampton.
Clearly I have no way of knowing if the Mayor or the City will be interested in helping our workforce here, or my residents living in Wednesfield. But it is a chance that really needs to be taken.
No stone should be left unturned in this fantastic effort the workforce and the campaign group are undertaking to save their jobs and their families futures.
The last time I appealed for help in the USA was when a resident went missing following Hurricane Katrina devastating Louisiana. That was a successful outcome, I hope that this intervention will also bring success.
