The Grand Theatre- A Truly Grand Theatre!

The Grand Theatre has had an investment of £1m made in its infrastructure, and it has been refurbished through out. This last week Mary and I have been with other City Councillors for a tour of the theatre.

cllrs-grand-theatreIt is very impressive and has been refurbished so well. The Grand Theater is a Victorian gem, and is still very much a major part of the City of Wolverhampton’s cultural offer after all these years . The Grand Theatre originally opened on 10 December 1894.

It has a great history, and a magnificent roll call of famous people who have stood on that stage…from Charlie Chaplin through to Winston Churchill, it is a fabulouse facility for Wolverhampton and sets it apart from our other Black Country towns which lacks such a facility.

It was good to see the new ideas, and to hear the new Chief Executives vision for the future.
