Lots of headlines have been created about the recent failure of The Kids Company a London based Charity that has involvement with ‘Looked After Children’ and Local Authorities across the UK and London.
They have unfortunately gone bust, despite receiving £3m of Government funding recently.
This is of course a tragedy for the children and families involved, plus the Local Government Authorities that are in partnership with The Kids Company, as their budgets will be stretched considerably to provide the cover required.
I asked yesterday if Wolverhampton City Council had any links or partnerships with The Kids Company, and the response was that we have not. The Kid’s Company has no involvement with Wolverhampton whatsoever.
I thought residents would like to know that, as the national news has been giving this charities failure high coverage.
