Councillor Phil Bateman said “Hey Wednesfield North residents, I have received this weather warning about High Winds. Please prepare your property and just be alert!”
‘There’s a change in the weather on the way this week with the predominantly dry and settled weather we’ve seen over the past week expected to be replaced by noticeably windier conditions along with some rain and heavy showers at times. The change is expected to take place during Tuesday night with some rain in the forecast later in the night and at times during Wednesday. Showers are then forecast during Thursday, Friday, and over the weekend with some heavy showers at times. There aren’t any concerns at present with regard to the amounts of rain in the forecast and any impacts are most likely going to be limited to some poor driving conditions at times.
It’s also going to turn windier from Wednesday onwards with the strongest of the winds expected during Wednesday night into Thursday when gusts to between 50 and 55 mph are likely quite widely across the region. These speeds are not unusual for early Spring but may bring some minor impacts such as difficult driving conditions, interruptions to power supplies and possible damage to some trees. A LOW impact yellow wind warning has been issued and is available on the Met Office website at the following link.https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2021-03-10
