Wednesfield High – A Warm & Courteous Meeting Considering the Circumstances!

Well today I visited the Wednesfield High School following a request I made after the school was placed into special measures by Ofsted. I was greeted very warmly in the circumstances by the Acting Head teacher and a representative from the Schools sponsors. I had a short tour of the school, and then had a detailed conversation with them. I was pleased to be able to raise some of the parent’s specific concerns.

Since I have returned home I have written again to the school thanking them for being so courteous, and setting out in writing the area of interest we covered.

There was a frank discussion as to how the school got placed into special measures by Ofsted.

The school explained to me that they had already appointed a new Head teacher, and that a rapid rescue plan has also been introduced. There was a lot more information but I will wait to see what the school says in their written response to my visit, before I publicly go into more details.

The school recognises that there is a lot to do to improve its poor communications and  recover the community trust, and the schools previous good reputation. It is a school that is  very modern in the way its been constructed and laid out and is eye catching in its design.

Its such a pity that it finds itself in this very poor position currently.Wednesfield High
