Wednesfield On The Inlands Waterways Map – With The Wyrley & Essington Canal !

Good News! The organisers of the BCN Cruise inform me that the overnight stay in Wednesfield was a huge success, and that Wednesfield Bentley Bridge will once again attract their cruise for next year 2016! This is great news for the Village and for our local economy. I hope I have demonstrated how increased traffic on our canal can improve our local economy.

I am chuffed to be made aware of the information and it fits nicely with some other announcements that I will be making around trading on the canal here in Wednesfield.IMG_6616 video BCN Cruise Sept 15 2015 – Wave goodbye!

But just to recap we welcomed22 Birmingham Canal Network cruisers at Wednesfield Bentley Bridge. They stayed on Sunday night having  cruised travelling around some of Britain’s finest canals, and they tell me that they had a great night in Wednesfield .

Conversations with these Narrow-boaters inform me that some of them went to the local hostelries, some visited the Cinema. Some Narrow boaters re provisioned at the Local Supermarket’s! Its great news!

The furthest a person had come to spend the night in our Village was from Australia….Now isn’t that just great. The Wyrley & Essington canal is a historic gem for Wednesfield, and is contributing to our Local Economy yet again. We have had a great year to date with activities on and around the canal, and the year is still not over……even more positive information in the next few days. So watch out for the next announcements….!
