Today I received a letter from the Jim McMahon Shadow Minister for Local Government and Devolution – House of Commons.
It was a nice letter congratulating me on my “contribution to Local Government”. In the letter the Shadow Minister states ” You should not underestimate how much your own achievements impressed the judges”. How nice is that! This followed last night City Council meeting when the Mayor informed the City Council of my “Communicator of the Year” Award from Local Government Information Unit.
I want to thank my City Council colleagues from all sides of the Chamber for their fulsome applause. I must say it is really nice to be recognised in this way.
