Wolverhampton City Council Round -Up!

Good Morning Wednesfield!
Today is Saturday 7th March! Hope you all have a great day today.

This week, has been a busy week for me. There has been a lot of contact and meeting with individual residents – dealing with this list of issues. Some of which are listed here.
• Residential Parking
• Speeding traffic
• Rubbish dumping
• School Parking
• Housing Applications

Also the on going issues relating to the recent flooding, has also taken a good portion of time. I have asked Officers that we now meet to discuss with those people who contacted me, the events, and the implications, now the weather has improved, and the results in relation to damage is better understood. I will be in touch with those people when I have that information.

As well as those individual items. I have attended the City of Wolverhampton Full Council Meeting, where we set the budget. Wolverhampton Homes Rents are to be increased by 2.7% in accordance with the Welfare Reform and Work Act. This meeting also approved the 2020/21 Counciltax being set at 3.99% – which incorporates the 2% increase in relation to Adult Social Care.
I also have taken up a difficult case regarding a complaint relating to a child’s health and treatment at the New Cross Hospital.

Plus been in touch with the Police about a small group of youths, both sexes – boys and girls, who are causing a great deal of problems in a number of places on Ashmore Park. The Hub at Ashmore Park, and Corpus Christi Social Club, plus the Shopping Parade, just to name a few places. There is cctv which has been made available to the Police. This issue is ongoing.
